MARGIE GUYOT: OIL Painting

Oil painting has always been her favored medium. She enjoys painting a variety of subjects, including classic cars, plein air landscapes, still lifes, surreals and portraits. She's also done a number of murals, including a 9x22-foot recreation of one of Diego Rivera's 'Detroit Industry' murals on the wall of UAW Local 36 in Wixom, Michigan. 'Variety, bright colors, bold shapes and reflective surfaces are things that excite me,' Guyot says.

Sign up early as Jim has a large following of collectors and students who follow his art classes wherever they are being held. He has won many awards for his palette knife technique and style. He is also a very known musician and will entertain and cook one of the evenings to entertain his students. Jim recently had a song recorded and his Crazy Legs Bar-B-Q Sauces are extremely popular items sold. This is a multi-talented artist and his students love his classes.
LINDA BOSS: Furniture Painting
February 10, 5-9pm & February 11, 10-1pm

Class $100 per student. Please bring your own furniture and paint.
Linda Boss is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Linda is a recognized artist and established graphic designer and well known and respected in this area. Her work has adorned the celebration of Venetian poster and tee-shirts and programs. She has displayed her work in many local galleries and is a Board Member of the Charlevoix Circle of Arts.
Bring a piece of furniture or artifact on which you would like to paint a scene or design. She will be painting a piece of furniture herself during the classes. She will help students as they need input on their work.

Cal Kemppainen is an outstanding artist and his work is shown at the Todd Warner Gallery on Bridge Street in Charlevoix. The collectors of his artwork have long admired the talent Cal has of capturing our natural environment in the best lighting or animals captured in a natural habitat that make the scenes dramatically real. His realism captivates anyone who looks upon one of his paintings. You will learn great style and technique with oils and enjoy the class taught by this master.
