Charie Metevia has lived in Charlevoix for 21 years and worked as a Vice President at Charlevoix State Bank for 19 of those years. Charie enjoys her yellow Labrador Finn, music, art, community involvement, skiing and water activities. She has served as Secretary to the Charlevoix Yacht Club Board (non-profit), runs an Adult Sailing Lessons program in Charlevoix and sits on the Char-Em United Way Board (non-profit). Charie served as a Charlevoix Chamber Ambassador for three years.
Linda and her husband Paul are long-term residents of Charlevoix. Paul grew up in Charlevoix. Linda has a BS from Case Western Reserve and a Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. She has worked as a nurse and has taught nursing. She and Paul are quite active in the local philanthropic community. Linda was involved with fundraising for the American Red Cross. She has lots of ideas and suggested the Dragon Boat Race as a CCA fund raising activity. She is very well known throughout the community.
Jamie graduated from Lake Superior State University. She is a licensed CPA and partner at Hoffman CPA Firm in Charlevoix. As a transplant to Charlevoix, Jamie states. "I absolutely love it here, especially in the summer, of course. The winter? Well, let’s just say that it develops my character. I love spending all the time I can with my friends and family – my husband, Nik (an extremely talented alternative education principal), and our two unruly poodles, Finn and Foo".
Bob is a graduate of McMaster University in Ontario, Canada with an Honors degree in Chemistry. He worked for The Dow Chemical Company in both the United States and Canada before joining Trinseo, which is a global chemical materials company. Following retirement, Bob has been active as a supply chain consultant. Bob and his wife Mary are now residents of Charlevoix.
Bob is a graduate of Michigan Technological University and has been a resident of Boyne City since 1998. Bob operates Nu-Core Inc., a manufacturing industry on the north side of Charlevoix. He is also associated with Tall Pines Investment, which is currently renovating the Dilworth Hotel in Boyne City.
Laura received her Art Education degree from Appalachian State University and is certified K-12. She also has a Masters degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Laura grew up in Charlevoix and returned with her husband in 2005 to raise their 4 children. She currently teaches computers at St. Mary School, and helps with their fundraising and marketing.
Chris is a Trustee for the Morley Foundation, and a Trustee and President of the Schroeder Foundation. He works for American Home Technology as a buyer and salesman. He is inspired in the arts by his wife Liisa who is a commercial artist and a fine art oil painter. Out of the office Chris has multiple interests in skiing, boating, golfing, motorcycling, music and classic wooden boats.
Karlee is a realtor with Pat O’Brien & Associates, born and raised in Charlevoix, has helped found local businesses and non-profits such as Landscape Logic and F.A.C.E.S., as well as been a driving force in getting young professional networking opportunities to the Charlevoix region as a Thrive 45 liaison. Karlee sees her work in real estate as an art form and has a drive for community enrichment. She also enjoys skiing, raising her five children, and exploring the gems of northern Michigan’s natural beauty.
Doug and his wife Karen are residents of Charlevoix. Doug received a BS from Ohio State and an MBA from Michigan. He has had extensive experience in the highest levels of management of numerous major health care organizations including Jefferson Health, Main Line Health, Henry Ford Hospital, BCBS, U of M, and U of Nebraska. He currently serves on the Board of Boulder Terrace. He has other board memberships and business interests in consulting and investment arenas.
