COVID-19 Guidelines for Dance & Yoga Classes:

  • Please don’t come to class if you are sick, have been feeling ill, or have come in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

  • Class sizes have been reduced to allow for sufficient physical distancing. Participants will be spaced at least 6 feet apart in the dance studio, with markings provided on floor.

  • We ask you to please wash or sanitize your hands upon entry.

  • Masks are recommended for those who are NOT vaccinated.

  • For children’s classes, we ask that only one adult accompany each child to help limit the amount of people in the waiting area.  For those waiting in the building during class, we ask that you wear a mask and maintain physical distancing of 6ft from anyone who is not in your household.

  • Please check-in with instructor upon arrival, providing your name and phone number to aid with contact tracing.

MUSICAL THEATER

For Ages 7 - 11

SEPTEMBER 22 - NOVEMBER 17, 2021
Wednesdays,  5:30 - 6:45pm

9 Week Session

$159 non-members, $143 members
 

Prerequisite for Musical Theater:

Students must be enrolled in Lyrical or Tap to participate, or have completed one previous session of Musical Theatre with Miss Beamer.


Minimum # of students to hold the class = 3
Maximum # of students per class = 8

 

This upbeat class is focused on performance skills and choreography memorization. Students will learn how to properly warm up their faces, bodies and imagination so they can learn the art of expression through musical theatre dance. Precise choreography, the basics of acting, jazz and mime and how to work together with their class mates to tell stories through movement will all be taught. Students will learn a complete dance in 9 weeks and have the opportunity to show family and friends their new skills at the November Recital! 

 

Dress Code:

Black Jazz shoes and leotard or black leggings and black top required. Hair neatly pulled back and no jewelry.

Recital Information: Costume measurements and payment due first week of class. Students unable to attend dress rehearsal November 19 will not be able to perform November 20. If student is unable to participate in recital please notify instructor first week of class. Students are expected to practice the choreography taught each week on their own time to ensure they are prepared to perform. Miss Beamer reserves the right to deny any student the privilege to perform in the recital due to poor attendance, lack of practice, or inability to listen to instructions that could risk individuals or classmates physical safety.

JAZZ Shoes:  you can order them on Amazon.com and the recommended brand is Bloch. They are typically leather with elastic.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Weather-Related 
In the event that Charlevoix Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes will be cancelled. To the best of our ability, CCA will schedule a make-up class. Refunds will not be provided if the student is unable to attend a rescheduled class.

Minimum Enrollment
If a class does not have the minimum number of students enrolled, CCA will notify you prior to the first session that the class is cancelled and will offer a full refund to the student. (Credit card payments will be refunded to the same card and check & cash payments will be refunded by check.)

Student Withdrawal

Due to artist/instructor preparations and travel, we do not provide refunds.
