MUSICAL THEATER

For Ages 6 - 8

CLASS FEE:

A fun upbeat class where kids learn the fundamentals of Musical Theatre and performance. This class will cover the foundations of musical theatre and will build beginners skills in acting, choreography, and self expression through personal performance in a fun and creative environment. 

Students will learn a complete dance in 10 weeks and have the opportunity to show family and friends their new skills at the RECITAL IN DECEMBER!

Instructor for this age group is Miss Brooke Crain - Miss Beamer's sister!  Together they will put on a fantastic dance session.

Dress Code for Class:

Black shirt, black athletic pants/leggings, black socks or black jazz shoes, hair neatly pulled back. No graphics on clothing, no jewelry, no baggy clothing.

Recital Information:

Costume measurements and costume payment due first week of class. 

Please Note: You do not have to participate in the recital. 

Students unable to attend dress rehearsal will not be able to perform  at recital. If student is unable to participate in recital please notify instructor first week of class. Students are expected to practice the choreography taught each week on their own time to ensure they are prepared to perform. Miss Brooke reserves the right to deny any student the privilege to perform in the recital due to poor attendance, lack of practice, or inability to listen to instructions that could risk individuals or classmates physical safety.

JAZZ Shoes:  you can order them on Amazon.com and the recommended brand is Bloch. They are typically leather with elastic.

Prerequisite for Musical Theater:

Students must be enrolled in Lyrical or Tap to participate, or have completed one previous session of Musical Theatre with Miss Beamer.


Minimum # of students to hold the class = 4
Maximum # of students per class = 9

 

This upbeat class is focused on performance skills and choreography memorization. Students will learn how to properly warm up their faces, bodies and imagination so they can learn the art of expression through musical theatre dance. Precise choreography, the basics of acting, jazz and mime and how to work together with their class mates to tell stories through movement will all be taught. Students will learn a complete dance in 13 weeks and have the opportunity to show family and friends their new skills at the RECITAL IN DECEMBER!

 

Dress Code for Class:

CANCELLATION POLICY

Weather-Related 
In the event that Charlevoix Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes will be cancelled. To the best of our ability, CCA will schedule a make-up class. Refunds will not be provided if the student is unable to attend a rescheduled class.

Minimum Enrollment
If a class does not have the minimum number of students enrolled, CCA will notify you prior to the first session that the class is cancelled and will offer a full refund to the student. (Credit card payments will be refunded to the same card and check & cash payments will be refunded by check.)

Student Withdrawal

Due to artist/instructor preparations and travel, we do not provide refunds.
