JIM ABBEY

PRESIDENT

Jim is a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.S.E.E. and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a M.B.A.  He and his wife ran their own small business for 10 years and then Jim retired from Ford Motor Company.  After retiring they moved to Charlevoix in 2014.  Active sailors and golfers, Jim also paints in pastels and is on several other nonprofit boards.

JENNIFER MULADORE

VICE PRESIDENT

Jennifer earned a BS in biology and English and an MS in Conservation Biology, both from the University of Michigan. She worked in the publishing industry until moving to Northern Michigan in 2007, where she was an ecologist and communications manager for a conservation nonprofit. Jennifer lives in Charlevoix with her husband, Ben, and two children, Jacob and Hannah.

ROBERT KOACHES

TREASURER

Bob is a graduate of McMaster University in Ontario, Canada with an Honors degree in Chemistry. He worked for The Dow Chemical Company in both the United States and Canada before joining Trinseo, which is a global chemical materials company. Following retirement, Bob has been active as a supply chain consultant. Bob and his wife Mary are now residents of Charlevoix.

SALLY CAMPI

SECRETARY

Sally was born in St. Louis, MO and graduated with a BA Contemporary American Literature and a minor in Art History from Scripps College, Claremont, CA. She has lived in Texas and moved to Charlevoix in 2011 with her husband, Frank. Prior to moving to Charlevoix, where she spent childhood family summers, Sally had a long career in retail management, including district responsibilities for Limited Brands and GAP, culminating in ownership of her own custom furniture and interior design store in Texas.

 

Since retiring and moving to Charlevoix, she has been active in several volunteer capacities including Charlevoix Circle of Arts, Planning Committee for Charlevoix’s Women Can Women Do, Women’s Resource Center and Charlevoix Food Pantry. She was then on the Food Pantry’s board,  Friends of the Charlevoix Public Library Board, and most recently volunteered and a committee chair for the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra. Sally feels that one of the best things about being retired in a small community that she has loved since childhood, is the ability to step up, volunteer, and make a difference.

JANET CHAMBERS

BOARD MEMBER

Janet is president and owner of Beacon Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing communications company she founded in 2001. She also serves as Executive Officer for the Home Builders Association of Northern Michigan, and Manager of Marketing and Development for the Charlevoix Area Community Pool. Janet moved back to Charlevoix, the town where she grew up, in 2018 from Central Pennsylvania. She holds a B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University and has taken MBA courses at Temple University.

JAN COLTMAN

BOARD MEMBER

Jan graduated from Wayne State University with a master’s degree in Education Administration and taught high school English and Science. After retiring from teaching in 1998, she began a second career in interior design, specializing on the design and construction of window treatments. Her passion for doing something she loves and providing a product enjoyed by her clients keeps her from retiring. Jan is also an oil painter who is passionate about art and creative expression. She enjoys playing bridge and is an avid reader.

SHANNON KLONOWSKI

BOARD MEMBER

Shannon is a Charlevoix native and graduated from Alma College with a B.A. in Accounting and Dance.  She spent the last 15 years in Nashville, TN working for the TN Department of Agriculture, culminating her time with them as the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer.  She moved to Nashville, to pursue singing and songwriting and wrote with several hit songwriters.  Shannon also taught dance at a local dance studio in Nashville for 15 years.  Students ranged in age from 3 years old to adult and styles included tap, ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and creative movement.  Shannon, her husband, and two sons moved back to Charlevoix in 2022 to be closer to family and to return to the community they love.  She is currently the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, serving four northern Michigan counties.

JOANNE SCHROEDER

BOARD MEMBER

Joanne is the President of Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree of science in nursing from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in health care administration from Ohio University. She is a member of the Charlevoix Lions Club and is a board member on the Charlevoix Chamber.  Joanne and her husband, Frank, love the beauty of northern Michigan as do their five children and four grandchildren who love to visit.

ROBERT GROVE

BOARD MEMBER EMERITUS

Bob is a graduate of Michigan Technological University and has been a resident of Boyne City since 1998. Bob operates Nu-Core Inc., a manufacturing industry on the north side of Charlevoix. He is also associated with Tall Pines Investment, which is currently renovating the Dilworth Hotel in Boyne City.
