COVID-19 Guidelines for Dance & Yoga Classes:

  • Please don’t come to class if you are sick, have been feeling ill, or have come in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

  • Class sizes have been reduced to allow for sufficient physical distancing. Participants will be spaced at least 6 feet apart in the dance studio, with markings provided on floor.

  • We ask you to please wash or sanitize your hands upon entry.

  • Masks are required.

  • For children’s classes, we ask that only one adult accompany each child to help limit the amount of people in the waiting area.  For those waiting in the building during class, we ask that you wear a mask and maintain physical distancing of 6ft from anyone who is not in your household.

  • Please check-in with instructor upon arrival, providing your name and phone number to aid with contact tracing.

Ballet 1

For Ages 3 - 5 
     

NOVEMBER 3 - DECEMBER 15  (Register by NOV. 2nd)

TUESDAYS, 4 - 4:30 pm

$50 - session of 6 classes
*no class Thanksgiving week

Minimum # of students to hold the class = 2
Maximum # of students per class = 5

Ages 3-5 welcome to come and learn the very basics of ballet while engaging in creative movement. Students will use imagery to explore creative ways that they can move their bodies while learning the basic fundamentals of ballet technique. Socks or Ballet slippers with comfortable clothing is ideal.

Ballet 2

For Ages 6 - 9
 

NOVEMBER 3 - DECEMBER 15  (Register by NOV. 2nd)
TUESDAYS, 4:45 - 5:30 pm

$60 - session of 6 classes

Ages 6-9 welcome to explore how we can use the basics of ballet to develop correct technique for larger movements. Students will learn the flow of a typical ballet class and understand how to find correct placement in their bodies. Socks or ballet slippers with comfortable clothing and hair pulled away from the face is ideal.

Contemporary Dance

For Ages 10 and up

NOVEMBER 3 - DECEMBER 15  (Register by NOV. 2nd)

TUESDAYS, 5:45 - 6:45 pm

$70 - session of 6 classes

Ages 10 & up.  Uses a basic understanding of dance technique, we will explore different styles of modern dance. In addition to learning movement combinations, students will have the opportunity to explore improvised dance and composition. Perfect for anyone that loves to move! Ballet slippers or tennis shoes, and comfortable clothing with hair pulled away from face is ideal.

Toddler TAP

Ages 3-5

 

OCTOBER Session:

Oct. 7 - 28, 2020  (REGISTER BY OCT. 6)
Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6 pm 

$40 - session of 4 classes


Minimum # of students to hold the class = 3
Maximum # of students per class = 6

Creative, fun, and lively class filled with lots of opportunity for your toddler to learn rhythm and timing. Foot, ankle and core muscles will all be strengthened while learning how to balance and isolate different muscles in the foot. In 4 weeks your toddler will learn a combination to a classic song, so they can continue to practice at home and have something to show friends and family! This class will lay a foundation for tap dance.
* Tap shoes are strongly recommended, but not required to participate. Your toddler will have so much fun making patterns and beats with their feet. Pants that don't fall below the ankle and t-shirt with hair pulled back is ideal. Tights and leotard also acceptable.

TAP 1

Ages 6-11
 

OCTOBER Session:

Wednesdays, 6:15 - 7 pm 

$45 - session of 4 classes

Minimum # of students to hold the class = 3
Maximum # of students per class = 6

No experience required, this tap course will teach the fundamentals of tap dancing. In a non competitive atmosphere students will learn how to make complex rhythms with their feet at a pace they can thrive at and build confidence in. Students will learn a fun combination in 4 weeks so they can continue to practice and show off their tap dancing skills!

* Tap shoes are required. Pants that don't fall below the ankle and t-shirt with hair pulled back is ideal. Tights and leotard also acceptable.

Teen TAP

Ages 12-16

 

OCTOBER Session:

Oct. 5 - 26, 2020  (REGISTER BY OCT. 4)

Mondays, 6 - 7 pm 

$55 - session of 4 classes

Minimum # of students to hold the class = 2
Maximum # of students per class = 6

No experience required, this tap class will teach a tap dance to a popular song over the course of six weeks. This class will be high energy, and active. Teaching self discipline, and precision, students will learn how to control and strengthen their feet, ankles, legs, and core giving them an extra edge in every other dance genre, and even sport performance! Weather you have background in tap dancing or not, this class will challenge each individual according to their level of experience. Get ready for a fun, full body workout all while learning Tap choreography and combinations that will have your feet dancing and practicing down the hallway or under your desk at school!

* Tap shoes required. Pants that don't fall below the ankle, or shorts and t-shirt with hair pulled back is ideal. Leggings or exercise pants that are tight around the ankle are fine.

Adult TAP


 

OCTOBER Session:

Oct. 7 - 28, 2020  (REGISTER BY OCT. 6)

Wednesdays, 7 - 8 pm 

$55 - session of 4 classes

Maximum # of students per class = 6

Did you tap dance as a child? Or always wish you had learned? Then this is the class for you. This tap class will get your heart rate up, muscles stretched, and blood pumping all while learning how to tap dance! No experience required. Legs, core, glutes, and arms will all be targeted while having fun making beats with your feet! Combinations will be adjusted to the skill level of each individual. Come ready to have fun, sweat, and learn a lot about tap dancing and how much fun it can be!


* Tap shoes required. Exercise clothes are ideal for this class, make sure if you were leggings or pants they hug tight to your ankle.

Senior Tap

For Ages 60+           
 

OCTOBER Session:

Oct. 7 - 28, 2020  (REGISTER BY OCT. 6)

Wednesdays, 11 - 11:45 am 

$50 - session of 4 classes

Minimum # of students to hold the class = 2
Maximum # of students per class = 6

This class can be taken standing, hanging onto the ballet barre, or sitting in a chair! Choreography will be adjusted to each individuals needs, no experience required! Weather you come to remember and refresh your body and mind of past tap dancing skills,or you want to get your blood pumping and feet and ankles stretched and strengthened, this class is for you. A fun combination will be taught in 4 weeks, so you can continue to practice after the session ends. Learn for the first time or relearn how to make patterns and beats with your feet along side your peers in a fun and positive class atmosphere.
 

* Tap shoes strongly recommended but not required, comfortable clothes with a pant hem that does not fall below ankle.

Creative Movement

For Ages 2 - 4

30-minute introduction to all of the dance forms and includes movement and rhythm games done to inspiring music.  This class focuses on body part identification, free expression, and spatial awareness for the tiniest of dancers.

Highland Dance

Ages 8-16

Scottish Highland dance is an energetic, athletic and graceful traditional dance form that is both challenging and fun to learn.  Students in this new class offering will learn the basic positions and movements of the highland dances and should finish the class able to perform at least one dance to music.  *Students can wears t-shirt, leggings or shorts, or knee socks; hair should be pulled back off face. Bring a water bottle.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Weather-Related 
In the event that Charlevoix Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes will be cancelled. To the best of our ability, CCA will schedule a make-up class. Refunds will not be provided if the student is unable to attend a rescheduled class.

Minimum Enrollment
If a class does not have the minimum number of students enrolled, CCA will notify you prior to the first session that the class is cancelled and will offer a full refund to the student. (Credit card payments will be refunded to the same card and check & cash payments will be refunded by check.)

Student Withdrawal

Due to artist/instructor preparations and travel, we do not provide refunds.
