Experience required, student must have taken a prior dance class in order to participate in Lyrical. In a non-competitive atmosphere students will explore lyrical movement with the body paired with emotional performance techniques. Participants will be encouraged to use their imaginations and have fun all while learning the discipline of lyrical dance which embodies the various aspects of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. This class combines ballet technique with free fluid movement to interpret lyrics, and convey emotion through the body. Students are strongly encouraged to register for Ballet or Musical Theatre in addition to Lyrical, to ensure a well rounded understanding of this unique style and be better able to execute the material covered.
Dress Code:
Any colored tights & leatorard and pink ballet shoes required (preferably canvas and not leather). Dance skirts & leggings (with leotard) acceptable. Hair neatly pulled back and no jewelry. Please bring layers to class (sweater, sweatshirts).

CANCELLATION POLICY
Weather-Related
In the event that Charlevoix Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes will be cancelled. To the best of our ability, CCA will schedule a make-up class. Refunds will not be provided if the student is unable to attend a rescheduled class.
Minimum Enrollment
If a class does not have the minimum number of students enrolled, CCA will notify you prior to the first session that the class is cancelled and will offer a full refund to the student. (Credit card payments will be refunded to the same card and check & cash payments will be refunded by check.)
Student Withdrawal
Due to artist/instructor preparations and travel, we do not provide refunds.
